Jepson & Co wins Make UK's Innovation award

We're delighted and humbled to have jointly won Make UK's regional 2020 Innovation award for our Modular Sneeze Guards.

A history of innovation at times of crisis

“Over the course of our 126-year history, we have faced many emergencies great and small. In 1914, we switched our production to assemble steel helmets to support our soldiers as part of the war effort”, said Peter Jepson, Managing Director of Jepson & Co Ltd.

“This year, to help frontline workers fight COVID-19, we have switched part of our plastics shaping and print production to create transparent personal protection barriers to help our customers serve their customers in safety”, he added.

“We’re delighted to announce that last week our Sneeze Guards were jointly awarded the North East, Yorkshire and Humber regional award for Innovation from Make UK – one of the UK’s largest manufacturing associations representing over 5,000 businesses nationally across engineering, manufacturing, technology and wider industry”, stated Jo Hackett, Marketing Manager.

Next stop: Nationals!

As a regional winner, Jepson & Co will proceed to the national awards in January 2021, competing with industry heavyweights such as illustrious previous winners Nissan, Tharsus and Caterpillar.

Giving back

“In appreciation of our essential frontline healthcare workers, we donate 10% of our Sneeze Guard profits to Food4Heroes. Like Jepson & Co, Food4Heroes was started in Yorkshire and have branched out to supplying nationwide. They team up with catering companies and restaurants to ensure hospital workers are eating healthily despite long and often challenging shifts. So far we have been privileged to donate over 2,700 meals. We thank our many customers and Make UK for raising the profile of Modular Sneeze Guards and making this significant donation possible”, Hackett added.
