Article Published - 23/9/2022

Considering buying blank number plates and number plate components and printers?

Did you know that blank number plates are typically made up of components including reflective and acrylic?

Jepson & Co supplies exceptional quality blank number plates, rated 4.93 / 5 by our customers, from reputable world-renowned manufacturers including Nikkalite and 3M reflectives.

Who can buy blank number plates?

To purchase number plate components, you must be a business that is registered with the DVLA .

We at Jepson & Co are a trade-only supplier manufacturing blank number plates and signage since 1894.

How to print blank number plates:

Blank number plates components are designed to work seamlessly with our range of number plate printers. Outlets can choose between thermal transfer standard or oversize printers, according to their needs. Unless you print large volumes of 4x4, motorcycle or oversize plates, we would typically recommend selecting a standard thermal printer, and if you wish to print these larger sizes, add on a laser printer.

Note: you must print the British Standard BS AU 145e mark and your business details (name and postcode) onto the blank number plates components when assembling your plates – this is a legal requirement.

Types of blank number plates:

A Jepson & Co number plate is made up of three parts including the print.

The protective cover – acrylic

Every Jepson & Co acrylic is 3mm wide to ensure both excellent visual clarity and durability. UK number plates must meet an extremely strict standard for their construction – one that is much tougher than many of our European counterparts - and blank number plates made from acrylic show the sharpest possible graphics and last for many years. Plates made from blank number plates components for the UK must be resistant to our challenging road conditions including frequent impacts from stone chips, change in temperature and humidity and general abrasion from dirt.
