Apprentice of the Year: Nominees

Article Published - 30/4/2018

Congratulations to our Apprentices, Emily and Aaron!

Recognising excellent work and dedication is important to us at Jepson & Co. We are very proud of our Apprenticeship scheme and teaching individuals how to operate and develop industry-leading software and benefiting from their academic approach.

Jo Hackett, the Marketing & Administration Manager for Jepson & Co, says “Apprentices are a key way of recruiting new skills and talent to Jepson & Co. They are a big asset to the company.”

We were thrilled to find out that both Emily and Aaron had been shortlisted for the ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award at the Made in Sheffield awards this year. They were up against some tough competition but to have two apprentices out of six in the shortlist is an achievement, we are extremely proud of them.

Emily is part of our Customer Service team and joined the company in June 2017. Her attributes have added excellent value to the team and the business. Emily’s achievements within the past 9 months have been nothing short of exceptional. She was offered a promotion from Apprentice to a Customer Service Representative, passed her initial assessment exam in January 2018 and has excelled in her day to day tasks and taken on additional important responsibilities.

Emily is never phased by a challenge. She is very effective and has a calming influence within the team which makes her approachable and reliable for her colleagues and her peers.

Aaron joined Jepson & Co in September 2016 and has gained knowledge and experience while working within our Technical Support team, supporting a range of products and services to a large customer base across the UK and parts of Europe. Aaron has developed comprehensive knowledge of industry-wide practices and procedures. He supports customers daily with technical queries, prepares hardware kits for new customers, arranges upgrades for existing customers and has become a subject matter expert for Jepson & Co software, providing enhancement ideas and test plans. Aaron’s skills and approach have ensured he has fast become a strong asset within the department.

Baltic Training have also awarded Aaron ‘Learner of the Week’ on two occasions, giving him fantastic praise and making Jepson & Co very proud of him.

We would like to extend a huge congratulations to both Emily and Aaron for getting shortlisted for this award. They are fantastic assets to the company and we are immensely proud of them.

The future is in good hands!
