3D characters on number plates are now confirmed as road legal.

However, there are still some rules on how these should be attached to your number plates:

• The characters must not be removable or reflective. If your number plates were fitted after 1st September 2021, they must also be a single shade of black.
• The characters on a number plate need to be a certain height and size.
