Important update regarding the new British Standard, BS AU 145e.
Following a recent update released by the British Number Plate Manufacturers Association (BNMA), it has been confirmed that the new British Standard, BS AU 145e, will not be implemented this year.
The update, published by BNMA Wednesday 20th March, reads:
DVLA have expressly confirmed that they want to go ahead and introduce the improved standard BS AU 145e as soon as possible. This requires an amendment to the The Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001.
DVLA are currently working on finalising the wording of this amendment and obtaining the parliamentary slot required in order to bring it into effect.
Our customers do not need to worry about the impact of the new standard as the implementation has been postponed and will be reviewed at a later date.
