How Well Do You Know Your Motorways?

Article Published - 4/6/2018

Learner drivers can now have driving lessons on the motorway. Test your knowledge of our British roads by taking the motorway quiz!

From Monday 4 June 2018, learner drivers will be able to take driving lessons on motorways in England, Scotland and Wales.

To drive on the motorway, learner drivers will need to be:

  • accompanied by an approved driving instructor
  • drive a car fitted with dual controls

It has been said that motorway lessons will be voluntary. It will be up to the driving instructor to decide when the learner driver is competent enough for them.

The changes will give learners a broader driving experience and a better understanding of motorways and motorway signs before taking their test. It's a great opportunity to build confidence in what can be quite daunting.

New changes only apply to those learning to drive a car. Learner motorcyclists will not be allowed on motorways until they pass their test. More information can be found here.

Our sister company, National Numbers, have released a quiz to test your motorway knowledge! Put yourself in the driving seat and let's see how well you know our British roads.
